Maths in Motion Winners - Christmas Fun Race
Cars Maths in Motion is a schools-only software application that simulates Formula 1 Grand Prix races. Children use a wide range of maths skills to work as a teamm to produce a winning car. This term, our team entered the Christmas Fun Race along with several hundred schools throughout the country. So many schools entered that the organisers (Jaguar) had to run heats to get down to the top 100. Mr Jack Gocher and Mrs Lise Smith have been working with a group of sixteen year 5 and 6 children. Woodside came 1st in the Primary School catergory, coming second to a Secondary School in Lancashire by just 0.02 seconds! The School has received a wonderful prize of a DVD Camcorder and Colour Photo Printer together with a certificate of achievement. The children received a variety og goodies from Jaguar. 16 Children took part in the club and the winning team comprised of Sarah Platts, David Bligh, Joseph Gocher and Charlie hardy. This is a great achievement for Woodside.
