Swan Award
For the past six years, Bucks County Council?s Children?s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee has recognised and celebrated progress and innovation in schools with the Swan Award. It is not an award that schools apply for. This year they chose schools which have shown significant progress and impact on pupils' interest and involvement in sport and physical activity through the school?s PE programme.
I am delighted to be able to tell you that I was invited to a presentation ceremony last week to receive the award for Woodside as one of only 23 schools in the County.
I would like to express my thanks to Mrs Wilson, our PE coordinator last year for her part in collating all the data, for making activities available to our children and training available to staff. Mrs Hannen has taken up the mantle this year and is carrying on the great work for which I am also grateful. All the staff deserve recognition for this for teaching PE so enthusiastically and taking on new ideas as they are presented to them.
We feel very privileged to have received this award and our certificate will be on display in the reception area.
