Assessment and Testing

A variety of assessment methods are used to monitor the progress of each child. On the basis of information obtained, we do our best to cater appropriately for each individual's needs and abilities. By making regular checks on progress, we are able to set targets for each child.
In the autumn term, targets are set for all pupils in English and Maths. Assessments each term allow us to monitor progress towards them.

In May the Year 6 pupils take their national SATs in English, Maths and Science, which are marked externally. Other years sit optional SATs. Parents are told the results of these tests and of the teacher assessment level in their child's annual report.
